Frequently Asked Questions
Immerse yourself in a new way of having fun! ZONE 518's experiences bring everyone together for an adventure like no other.

Wait, what is this?
Somewhere between an interactive museum and a first-generation of the Holodeck from Star Trek. We are an immersive augmented reality and virtual reality experience which puts you at the center of an engaging story.
What is the Holographic Theater?
You'll walk around wearing fully transparent headsets while you see and interact with an unbelievable story.

How long does this last?
Plan on spending 30 to 70 minutes depending on the adventure you've purchased.

My child is younger than 7. Can they join?
Unfortunately, the AR glasses and VR headsets only size-down so much, and they typically don’t fit children younger than 7. We would love more children to enjoy our experiences, but unfortunately if the headset does not fit them they will not be able to participate. If you happen to be near a ZONE location, feel free to stop in and see if it will fit your child!

Can I wear my glasses?
Absolutely! The AR headsets used in our Holographic theater are designed to fit over glasses just fine. The VR headsets in our Escape Rooms and Action Games fit over top of 90% of peoples glasses.

Do I need to bring my own AR or VR glasses?
Nope! We've got you covered!

How does everyone avoid hitting each other?
In our Holographic Theater you walk around where everyone can see each other through he Augmented Reality glasses. You and your group will be together and can stick together in the story or explore however you would like.

In our VR Adventures you will be in the play space with just your group. You will all be working together in the same experience and will be able to see each other virtually in the adventure in the same location they are in the real world.

What should I wear?
You are welcome to wear any family friendly clothing as we have guests ages 7 and up. Since you will be wearing a VR headset or AR glasses you will want a hairstyle that can accommodate headstrap. There is no running in our facility but all our experiences require walking around the space, so comfortable shoes (no high-heels) are recommended.

How do you clean and sanitize the headsets?
Our headsets are cleaned and disinfected using Cleanbox UV technology after each guest.

Will I get motion sick?
In our Holographic Theater the short answer is NO. In these experiences you can see the real world around you along with our magical holographic projections. There are bright lights and sounds that can be adjusted by your guide if you are sensitive to those.

In our VR adventures, even guests who have experienced motion sickness with VR in the past typically don't get motion sick. Our adventures are free roam VR where you are walking around in the space just like in the real world. Motion sickness is typically caused by differences in actual motion and the motion you are perceiving. In free roam VR, we track your movements and you move in the adventure only when you move in real life. You are not teleporting with a controller like home VR games which is the major cause of motion sickness in VR.

What languages are your experiences in?
All of our adventures and experiences are in English. Some of our Holographic Theater titles are also available in Spanish. Most of our VR Adventures are available in English, Spanish, Italian, German and French.

Can I take pictures?
Yes, Please take pictures and share them with your friends and family. We also have a free photo booth for you and your group that will text the images to your phone.

Is your experience accessible to those who are mobility impaired?
Yes, our facility is wheelchair and mobility restricted accessible. All our experiences require you to move around in the space. We have had many guests in wheelchairs, walkers and on crutches. Our Holographic Theater responds to movements of your hands. Our VR Adventures require you to hold and press buttons on a controller to interact with the complete experience.
